Carefree Arizona is the beautiful backdrop for the Carefree Art and Wine Festival

The Arizona Fine Art EXPO is scheduled to begin Jan. 15th and run everyday through March 29th, 2009 showcasing 100 nationally acclaimed, award winning artists working in a studio environment, highlighted by a gallery-setting backdrop. This impressive event is located at Scottsdale and Jomax Roads (26540 N. Scottsdale Rd., Scottsdale, AZ 85255) situated on the southwest corner just 5 miles south of Carefree and 5 miles north of Loop 101.

Indoors, patrons can enjoy watching the artists passionately painting, sketching in pastels, pen & inks, and mixed medias, sculpting clay for future bronzes and clay sculptures, wood working, jewelry designing and jewelry welding, demonstrations, art classes, etc. In addition to enjoying magnificent bronzes, copper, clay, stone and metal sculptures in the handsome desert Sculpture Garden, patrons can also watch artists welding, fusing glass, carving and etching stone, patina finishing, plein air painting and more.

During the past four years, the EXPO received rave reviews from the attending patrons regarding both the quality of art and the setting of the new location. Entertainment this year includes NAMY award-winning Brule’ and his band AIRO; award-winning hoop dancer Brian Hammill; Paul McDermand performing on his steel drums and marimbas; chefs’ demonstrations, juried student art show and more.

The event combines the aspects of a juried fine art festival, the elements of a gallery and the inner-workings of an artist’s studio. The result is a unique celebration of art that functions as an educational tool for the children and art enthusiasts. The EXPO takes place on the southeast corner of Jomax and Scottsdale Roads in Scottsdale. A season pass is $7 and $6 for seniors and military. Children under 12 are free. Parking is also free.
